21st Annual Summit Racing Equipment Modified Mania up Next for the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment

FAIRBURY, IL (September 22, 2025) – After almost a month away from the track, the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment teams and fans are eager to get back to racing. The 2025 season all boils down to these final 5 races that will be held in a span of 10 days. The final stop before the tour heads to Fairbury Speedway for Championship Weekend will be the Tri-City Speedway for the 21st annual Summit Racing Equipment Modified Mania this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

For the first time in series history, the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment will sanction the 21st annual Summit Racing Equipment Modified Mania event at Granite City, Illinois’ Tri-City Speedway on Thursday – Saturday, September 25 - 27. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will all be complete shows for the MARS Modifieds paying $2,000-to-win / $250-to-start on Thursday, $3,000-to-win / $250-to-start on Friday, and $5,000-to-win / $400-to-start on Saturday.

From the outside looking in, the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment points battle may appear all but over, but in reality, it is actually the exact opposite of that. For the Modified tour, each competitor is allowed to drop their two worst finishes prior to championship weekend. The points will then be re-set for the MARS Championship Weekend at Fairbury Speedway for the FALS Frenzy.

Cole Falloway leads the tour into Tri-City with a 99-point lead in series standings, before drop nights. Trevor Neville, Michael Ledford, Ray Bollinger, and Beau DeYoung round out the top 5.

Beau DeYoung has used his ultra-impressive rookie campaign to bulk up a 133-point Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year point lead over Alan Stipp, Ryan Hamilton, Damian Kiefer, and Mark Rhoades.

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH FOR:

• POINTS CHASE AT THE TOP: Heading into Mod Mania weekend, Cole Falloway is obviously your odds-on favorite as being a first time series champion. Interesting fact is that the standings are actually much closer as they appear. From the surface it looks as if Falloway has a 99-point lead over 2nd place Trevor Neville. If you took the two drop nights out at this stage of the season, Michael Ledford is only 27 behind Falloway.

• SOLID AS A ROOKIE: With only 5 events remaining, Beau DeYoung will look to close his 2025 campaign out strong by claiming the Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year title. In 12 races so far this season, DeYoung has captured an impressive 9 top-10 finishes with his best effort being a third-place finish at World Famous Highland Speedway.

• STL STAND UP: When rolling into the St. Louis region, you can always expect some of the toughest competition. In 2023 O’Fallon, Missouri driver, Treb Jacoby, added his name to the history books as a MARS Modified feature winner. Rick Conoyer & Kenny Wallace are currently battling back-and-forth over the DIRTcar region title, with Wallace currently having the advantage. Of course, you can’t forget about 2023 MARS Late Model Championship Powered by FK Rod Ends Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year Mike Harrison when in town. He is a six-time Mod Mania champion.

• MICHAEL LONG BACK TO THE FRONT: One driver that has had somewhat of an off year in 2025 is back-to-back MARS Modified champion, Michael Long. After piling up 13 victories in the first two years of the series, Long has one lone victory in MARS action this season. Will he find victory lane at Tri-City? He is a 2-time Mod Mania champion.

• CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND: Looking ahead it is hard to not see Championship Weekend glaring in the distance. Next weekend both the MARS Late Models and the MARS Modifieds will conclude the 2025 season with the FALS Frenzy at Fairbury Speedway. Complete shows will be contested both nights.
