Mars Racing Series Gearing Up for Big Season Ending Weekend

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Burbank, Illinois (October 6, 2020) - The Mars Racing Series presented by Rip It Energy Fuel is
ready to end the 2020 race season with a bang. With $30,000 winner share up for grabs over
the three-day weekend all eyes in the late model world will be on the “Land of Lincoln. After a
crazy, interrupted season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the twenty-first edition of the Mars
tour has produced some exciting races. The first year series owner Tony Izzo Jr salvaged a trying
year and put together a great ten race schedule that will conclude Sunday night at LaSalle
Speedway with the crowning of the season champ.

Frank Heckenast Jr will carry the series points lead into Peoria Speedway Friday night in hopes
to bring home the crown Sunday night at LaSalle. Frank leads the 2020 Summer Nationals
champion Brian Shirley by 33 points. Brian swept the races back in August at Peoria Speedway
to put himself within striking distance in the championship battle. This past Sunday’s ARCA
Series winner and a consistent top finisher Ryan Unzicker currently sits third in points and is still
within striking distance. Four and Fifth place drivers Jason Feger and Bobby Pierce are the most
recent winners on the Mars Racing Series tour and will add excitement to the Championship
weekend events.

Although Mars Series regulars are scheduled to be on tap all weekend long, there will also be
some of the best drivers in the Midwest dropping in to compete for the big paydays. One of the
hottest drivers on dirt, Brandon Sheppard is scheduled to compete all three nights. World of Outlaws competitor Dennis Erb Jr is no stranger to Illinois bullring events and will look for victory lane in his own back yard. Shannon Babb, Scott James, Kevin Weaver, Mike Spatola,
Rich Bell, Jake Timm, Taylor Scheffler, Rusty Schlenk, Ashton Winger & Chris Simpson are just a
few names that are expected to compete on the weekend.

Action will kick off Friday night at Peoria Speedway with a 40-lap feature event paying $5,000 to
win. Pit gates are scheduled to open at 3:30pm with Grandstands opening at 4pm. Pill draw will
close at 6pm with drivers meeting at 6:15pm and hot laps at 6:30pm. Pit Passes are $40 with
Kids Pit Pass 10-Under $20. Grandstands are $25 with Kids 10-Under FREE. Support classes will
be DIRTcar Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Mods, & DIRTcar Hornets.

Saturday night the tour will move to Fairbury Speedway with the 50-lap $15,000 to win FALS
Frenzy. Pit gates are scheduled to open at 11am. Driver registration will be open at 2pm and
close at 5pm. Drivers meeting will begin at 5pm with hot laps at 5:15pm. Pit Passes are $40 with
Kids Pit Pass 12-Under $15. Grandstands are $25 with Kids 12-Under FREE. Support classes will
be DIRTcar Modifieds & DIRTcar Pro Late Models.

Sunday night will be Mars Championship Night at LaSalle Speedway with the Rip It 50 paying
$10,000 to win. Pit gates are scheduled to open at 2:30pm with Grandstands opening at
3:30pm. Pill draw will close at 4:30pm with drivers meeting and hot laps to follow at 5pm. Pit
Passes are $40 with Kids Pit Pass 11-Under $25. Grandstands are $25 with Kids 11-Under FREE.
Support class will be DIRTcar Pro Late Models.

Drivers and teams can find all information on tire rules, race day procedures, payouts and more
at www.marsracingcseries.com.

The Mars Racing Series will score points towards the season points title on Friday and Saturday
nights and on Sunday the top five points finishers will be recognized during intermission at
LaSalle Speedway before the Rip It 50. Any changes or additional info will be shared via Mars
social media pages in the days to come.

The officials of the Mars Racing Series presented by Rip It Energy Fuel are excited for the action-
packed weekend and look forward to seeing you at the track!
