Penalty Report Issued Following Illini 100 Weekend at Farmer City Raceway
FAIRBURY, IL (April 28, 2026) – MARS Modified Championship powered by Summit Racing Equipment officials have issued a penalty to Modified driver Damian Kiefer for failing a tire test after competing in the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
A tire sample was taken at the conclusion of heat racing action and sent into an independent laboratory for testing of chemically altering substances, just as the tour does nightly as a routine procedure.
The test revealed that the tire did not meet the benchmarks provided by Hoosier Racing Tire. Following these results, additional testing was done on sample “B” that was taken on the same night, from the same tire in question, and the chemical analysis confirmed the same findings as sample “A” did.
Due to the violation, Kiefer has been fined $1,265 in race winnings and fines, a $200 tire analysis fee, and $125 for the overnight shipment of sample “B” to the lab. Kiefer will lose all points from that night’s event and be placed on probation for the next 12 months. Penalties are according to the standardized penalty process agreed upon over the winter and used by all touring series under the DIRTcar Midwest banner.
From the DIRTcar technical rulebook: “F. Chemical alterations, vulcanizing, tire softening, defacing, and/or altering the face of the tire lettering and/or tire stamping will not be permitted. Chemicals or tire softening is not permitted at any time.”
From the MARS Late Model and Modified Championship rulebook: “T. Any member that attempts and/or is found to be using tires that are found to be illegal in any manner will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or any other action deemed appropriate by officials.”
