MARS - Midwest Auto Racing Series

Summit Racing Equipment to Power MARS Modified Championship: Set to debut 20 race schedule in 2023.

Officials with the Midwest Auto Racing Series are excited to announce today a long-term partnership that sets Summit Racing Equipment as title sponsor of the MARS Modified Championship tour coming in 2023.

In addition to Summit Racing Equipment becoming the title sponsor, they will also be a contingency sponsor contributing to each of the events on the 2023 race schedule. Summit Racing Equipment will award more than $3,000 in cash and contingency certificates throughout the season to select finishers in the main event at all MARS events during the upcoming year.

The MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment has announced a 20-race schedule for the 2023 season. The tour includes events at 11 different tracks in three states including Illinois, Missouri, and Kentucky. The winner’s purse of those events will hit nearly $50,000 with over three-hundred thousand dollars in total purses and prize money earmarked for the 2023 campaign. All events will pay a minimum of $2,000 to win, $250 to start and a full points payout of $23,500 for the top 10 positions.

“What a great opportunity to partner with Jim Greenleaf and Summit Racing Equipment in this new endeavor”, new MARS Series owner Matt Curl conveyed. “Jim has such a passion for our industry and especially the Modified teams in our regional area”. “I can’t wait for what the future holds with the series with their involvement.” Check out Summit Racing Equipment and everything they can supply race teams at www.summitracing.com .

The opening weekend of the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment will make the two day stop at the always exciting Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, for the Winter Meltdown on April 7th & 8th. The Gundaker owned “House of Power” will host the first ever MARS Modified events to start the 2023 season.

The tour then rolls on Friday, April 28th at the newly promoted Brownstown Bullring in Brownstown, Illinois for the Seivers JCB 30. An exciting weekend for the series will continue Saturday, April 29th at the famed Fairbury Speedway which will be the track’s 77th season opener. This weekend will be the first events in which both the MARS Late Models and MARS Modifieds will race on the same night.

The only trip to the state of Kentucky will hit the high banks of the Paducah International Raceway on Friday, May 5th. The tour heads north to the Red Hill Raceway in Sumner, Illinois on Saturday, May 6th.

The month of May heats up with a trip to the Charleston Speedway for the Graves Memorial 30 on Saturday, May 20th. The last stop on the ultra-exciting swing will conclude at the Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Illinois on Sunday, May 21st.

The annual Memorial Day weekend swing May 26th – 28th will hit the traditional tracks including the Farmer City Raceway, Fairbury Speedway, and conclude at the Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Illinois. Spoon River Speedway will host the annual Gary Cook Jr. Memorial paying $2,564 to win the 30-lap feature event.

After a break for the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, the series picks back up for an exciting combo starting Saturday, July 22nd in Pevely, Missouri for the Tribute to Ed Dixon at the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. The tour then heads south to the Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Illinois on Sunday, July 23rd.

The Gary Gerstner Memorial at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois will be held on Friday, August 18th. The series will then take the short drive to Highland Speedway at the historic fairgrounds in Highland, Illinois on Saturday, August 19th.

As summer concludes and fall arrives, the traditional triple-header Labor Day weekend events will again be held at the Farmer City Raceway on Friday, September 1st, Fairbury Speedway Saturday, September 2nd, and wrap up the holiday weekend at the Spoon River Speedway on Sunday, September 3rd as part of the 33rd Annual Plow Boy Nationals. Both the Fairbury Speedway and Spoon River Speedway will have $5,000 to win shows which will equal the highest paid events in 2023 on the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment.

Concluding the 2023 MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment Season will be a trip to the Brownstown Bullring in Brownstown, Illinois on Friday Night October 6th. The final night will hit the famed Fairbury Speedway on Saturday, October 7th and will be a part of the huge World of Outlaw FALS Frenzy weekend which will bring some of the best racing in the country to one place on the final night of 2023 for the series.
Additionally, a new series website is soon-to-be launched and will be the official home for everything related to the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment. All series information including series points structure, procedures, and rule book will be released in the coming weeks. The MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment will be DIRTcar sanctioned in 2023 and follow all technical rules for Modifieds.
