Mother Nature Claims Peoria, Sets Up August 2-Day Show

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Burbank, IL (June 28, 2020) - Mother Nature was the winner Saturday night for the Mars Racing Series presented by Rip It Energy Fuel. Before qualifying could be completed as a stubborn rain began to come down putting a halt to on track action. Officials with the Peoria Speedway tired their best to keep the pack trucks on the track as the rain came down off and on. Unfortunately the rain would not stay away forcing the Peoria Speedway and Mars Racing Series officials to pull the plug.

Peoria Speedway and Mars Racing Series rescheduled the Steve Lance Sr make up race for Friday, August 28th. The $5,000 to win show will kick off a two-day weekend of racing at the bullring. Saturday, August 29th will be the 66th Annual IL State Championship paying $5,000 to win which was originally scheduled for Saturday August 22nd. This will make a nice weekend of racing in the land of Lincoln. The series will then finish the weekend out at East Moline on August 30th for $5,000 to win.

The next weekend of action for the Mars Racing Series presented by Rip It Energy Fuel will kick off on August 7th at a venue yet to be named. Saturday August 8th the tour will invade Brownstown Speedway for the Hall of Fame Classic paying $10,000 to win. Series officials are working with other tracks to finalize the remaining dates to fill for the 2020 race schedule.

Current remaining schedule for 2020 looks like this

Friday August 7th  TBA

Saturday August 8th Brownstown Speedway $10,000 to win
