Davenport, IA April 17, 2015 – 5-time Corn Belt Clash Champion, Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, IA picked up his 4th career MARS victory at Davenport Speedway on Friday April 17th and pocketed $4,000. The race was co-sanctioned by MARS, Corn Belt Clash Series (CBC) and UMP.
Ray Guss Jr of Milan, IL gained the most passing points from the heat races and set on the pole for the 35 lap feature with Simpson to his outside. Guss Jr led early but lost the lead to Simpson in lapped traffic and would settle for an 8th place finish.
Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, IA started 4th on the grid and battled with Jason Utter of Columbus Junction, IA for third place throughout much of the race. Gustin would outduel Utter and finish second in the final rundown with Utter finishing third.
2011 UMP National Champion Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, IL started the feature in the 25th spot, and finished 4th. 2012 MARS Champion Jesse Stovall of Billings, MO rounded out the top five.

The MARS DIRTcar Series presented by Andy’s Frozen Custard will be back in action tonight at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, IA for the 7th annual Slocum 50 paying $10,555 to win.
