Vaught Cleans Up at THUNDERFEST

Muskogee, OK (September 24, 2011) – Will Vaught of Crane, MO wasted little time of establishing himself as a dominant force during the final night of the Thunderfest Shoot Out at Thunderbird Speedway.  Vaught won his heat race and won the $3,000 to win feature event from his outside front row starting position.  Vaught also led all thirty laps and picked up the Charlie’s Chicken $1,000 to win bonus for any driver that was able to win both nights bringing his two-day total to $6,500.

MARS point leader Brad Looney of Republic, MO repeated his performance from the night before and finished second to Vaught.  Tucson, AZ native R.C. Whitwell finished third while Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, AR and Jesse Stovall of Galena, MO rounded out the top five.

Vaught Victorious at Thunderbird

Muskogee, OK (September 23, 2011) – Will Vaught of Crane, MO picked up his first MARS win of the 2011 season at night #1 of the Topless Thunderfest at the historic Thunderbird Speedway.  Vaught led every lap of the fifteen lap feature that was slowed by two cautions.  The feature was originally scheduled for 20 laps, however a multi-car crash on lap 10 forced race officials to reduce the amount of feature laps due to only eight cars being able to continue on, and a rougher than normal race track from heavy soaking rains during the week.  Vaught earned $2,500 for the win, his first with the MARS series since August 29, 2009.

Current MARS point leader Brad Looney of Republic, MO finished second and was able to increase his point lead over third place finisher Jesse Stovall of Galena, MO.  Justin Asplin of Birch Tree, MO and R.C. Whitwell of Tucson, AZ rounded out the top five.
